Kika Frutos, one of Murcia's most recognized faces, trusts Ópticas y Audiología LUPER to take care of her visual health.
During her visit, she not only underwent a complete eye exam, but also explored our wide range of prescription glasses.
Like many of us, Kika needs glasses to correct her vision, and at LUPER we make sure to find the most comfortable and aesthetic frames for her. Her commitment to caring for her eyes is an example to follow.
At LUPER, we spoke with her to get to know her better.
LUPER: We know you're from Murcia, but where exactly?
Kika Frutos: “I’m from Murcia and I’m Alberqueña; my parents are from La Alberca. My father is from La Alberca, my mother too, and I still live in La Alberca, imagine that!” Kika explains with great pride.
L: How did you decide to pursue journalism?
K: "I studied Physical Education, but when I finished my degree, I said, 'Why not study Communication? I'm very much a troublemaker,'" she says with a laugh.
“Chema, my partner, encouraged me to study Journalism,” she tells us, looking at him complicitly. “I wanted to write for newspapers, but television hired me for a TV show as a reporter, and from there everything has been upward. The truth is, I can’t complain.”

L: We want to know what it was like the first time you were in front of a camera.
K: “The first time I was in front of a camera, I had to cover Michael Jackson's death. I'll never forget it, and I wanted to die,” Kika laughs.
“I was at Fnac, everything was shaking, and the cameraman told me to position the microphone correctly, then I broke out in a cold sweat. I'll never forget it!” She continues recounting as if she were reliving it. “But you learn from everything,” she assures with a nod.
L: And what's the anecdote you remember most? Besides the one you've already told us.
K: “A really good anecdote is about the New Year’s Eve bells,” she begins to tell, joking with her partner.
“I'm the Murcian Pedroche, I’ve been hosting the New Year’s Eve countdown for 3 years. For the first one, I decided to pay tribute to her and wore a sheer dress. There was no way to attach the transmitter pack, no human way because I wasn't wearing underwear” -She opens her eyes-. “They had the idea of sticking the transmitter pack to my skin with electrical tape, but Chema had given me a cream to keep me from getting cold because I was completely naked.” She laughs as she looks at him, and continues:
“When I realized, the transmitter pack was sliding down live, past where Mordor and beyond are. Very bad!” She finishes telling, laughing.
L: We're curious to know how you started in the world of Instagrammers/influencers; tell us about your beginnings.
K: “Well, I have a sister-in-law who is very active on social media, and she told me I was wasting a lot of time and money,” she explains. “I noticed it on the street, but I had private social media. One day I decided to open them, and I suddenly gained 5,000 followers on Facebook,” Kika tells us. “So much so that my phone crashed from all the thank you messages. That's when I realized it was almost an obligation, as a public figure, to show a little bit of my life.”

The interview is coming to an end, and we want to know if she had ever considered quitting. Kika confesses that she is currently at a somewhat critical point, but assures us that it gives her more than she gives back. In fact, she describes her followers as "lovers" because of all the affection she receives. She believes she offers a type of entertainment and that if she quit, it would be selfish of her.
We end the interview with a very open question where we give her the opportunity to define herself for those who don't know her. Her answer? Nothing but the truth: "I'm a very outgoing person, I'm very crazy, and if I had to choose one adjective, I'd say I'm intense, I'm intense!" she repeats, emphasizing with her hands.
Well, Kika, we love that intensity! We want many more years of intensity and for you to continue making us a part of your daily life with that smile that always accompanies you.
