Is the eye test really free?
Yes. The personalised eye test is worth €49, but at LUPER we don't charge you for it. We do it for free at all three of our opticians.
How much does an eye test at an optician's cost?
At LUPER, nothing: the eye test to check your prescription is free (worth €49). If you then need glasses, prescription glasses start at €49 (LUPER frame with single vision lenses) and varifocals at €149.
How long does it take?
About 30 minutes. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early.
What does the personalised eye test include?
Medical history, visual acuity test, refraction test, examination of the retina and optic nerve and, depending on the results, additional tests such as visual field or focusing and eye coordination.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, better with an appointment: our diary is very full and without an appointment we can't guarantee we'll be able to see you. Booking is free and takes a minute.
How long before should I take out my contact lenses?
If you wear contact lenses, don't put them in for the 24 hours before the test. And come with rested eyes.
How often should I have my eyes tested?
We recommend doing it at least once a year, or sooner if you notice blurred vision, headaches or eye strain.
Is it valid for prescription glasses, varifocals or contact lenses?
Yes. It's the starting point for everything to do with your eyesight: prescription glasses, prescription sunglasses, varifocals, contact lenses or any question about your prescription.
Do you see children?
Yes, we see the whole family, including children: eye checks, children's glasses and myopia control.

Personalised eye test in Murcia: free eye check
At Ópticas LUPER we carry out the free eye test at our opticians in Murcia (Canalejas and Marcos Redondo) and San Pedro del Pinatar. It is worth €49 and takes about 30 minutes. It's the way to have your eyes tested calmly while also checking your eye health.
What is a personalised eye test?
It is a complete assessment of your eyesight, with tests to detect refractive problems such as short-sightedness (myopia), long-sightedness (hyperopia) or astigmatism, and ageing eyes or presbyopia. It doesn't just measure your distance and near vision: it also checks the general health of your eyes, to spot more serious problems such as glaucoma or macular degeneration early.
How is the eye test carried out at LUPER?
- Medical history: we review your medical and eye history to understand any background that affects your visual health.
- Visual acuity test: tests to assess your ability to see at distance and close up.
- Refraction test: using different lenses, we determine whether you need glasses or contact lenses and what the correct prescription is.
- Examination of the retina and optic nerve: we check the back of the eye to spot problems such as macular degeneration or glaucoma early.
- Additional tests: depending on the results, measurement of the visual field (peripheral vision) or focusing and eye coordination tests.

When should you have your eyes tested?
We recommend an eye check at least once a year. Sooner if you notice blurred vision or difficulty focusing, headaches after reading or using the computer, eye strain or dryness, double vision or halos around lights, or problems seeing at night or in low light.
Eye test at home: your visual acuity, as a first idea
An eye test at home can give you a preliminary idea of your visual acuity: stand 3 metres from a screen and check whether you can read all the letters or symbols of a standard test. If you find it difficult, book a complete eye test. No online test replaces a test carried out by a professional.

Quiero destacar especialmente la experiencia que he tenido en Audiologia Lúper, en Murcia. Desde el primer momento, el trato ha sido absolutamente excepcional: cercano, amable, paciente y, sobre todo, muy profesional.
Te hacen sentir cómodo y bien atendido desde que entras por la puerta, algo que para mí tiene muchísimo valor. Se nota que no se limitan simplemente a hacer su trabajo, sino que realmente se preocupan por la persona que tienen delante y por ofrecerle la mejor atención posible.

Quiero dejar esta reseña para destacar el trato de Ópticas Luper, pero sobre todo para agradecer de corazón a María. Hacía tiempo que no me encontraba con una atención al cliente tan brillante, atenta y cercana.
Fui a comprar unas gafas de sol y María marcó por completo la diferencia. Tiene un ojo clínico y un gusto impecable para asesorar: supo al instante qué montura y cristales encajaban mejor con mis facciones y estilo. Su paciencia, su simpatía natural y la pasión con la que hace su trabajo convierten la compra en un auténtico placer. Se nota cuando a alguien le apasiona lo que hace y cuida cada detalle con tanto cariño.

Pedí dos gafas, unas normales y otras de sol graduadas. Las dos llegaron normales y tuve que esperar otras 3 semanas en tener las de sol (pagadas desde el primer día, claro).
Pero bueno, eso considero que es un fallo humano y ya está, no es lo peor. Lo que más me molesta es que no veo bien con ellas, me graduaron rápido y mal (y eso que iba con cita).

Quiero destacar especialmente la atención de Carolina en Ópticas LUPER Murcia. Mi caso es complejo (trasplante de córnea de hace más de 40 años, con antecedentes de rechazo), y aun así se tomó el tiempo de explicarme cada prueba con mucha paciencia y profesionalidad. No estaba obligada a dedicarme tanto tiempo ni a hacerme pruebas adicionales, y aun así no dudó en ayudarme sin ningún coste.
